Organic Coconut Tree Sap from our Certified Organic Farms in the Philippines, and hand harvested, mineral-rich Sea Salt collected near the coast of the southern islands and sun dried in open air structures lined with clay bricks. When the coconut tree is tapped it produces a highly nutrient-rich sap that exudes from the coconut blossoms. This sap has a low glycemic index of only 35 and contains a wide range of minerals, vitamin C, broad-spectrum B vitamins, 17 amino acids, and has a nearly neutral pH.
The “Gran Molucas Sea Salt” used in our Coconut Seasoning Sauce garners its name from the exotic tropical island of Mindanao, the 2nd largest island in the Philippines. It is surrounded on all sides by converging Pacific Ocean waters ~ the Sulu Sea to the West, the Celebes Sea to the South, and the Philippine Sea to the East.
A local culinary heritage in Mindanao, this unbleached, unrefined, naturally white sea salt is fed only by the sun and the sea. It is hand-harvested by local salt producers working as their forefathers did, in their ancestral salt fields.
After many days of labor, the salt is then sun-dried (to evaporate excess moisture) in open-air cages lined with clay bricks. The result is a distinctly flavorful and nutritious, mineral-rich, unrefined sea salt.
