Sprinkle seeds over salads, soups, yogurt, cereal or toast. Use a spice or coffee grinder to make your own milled flaxseed to use in smoothies and baked goods.

SUGGESTED RECIPE:

Maple-Cinnamon Flaxseed Granola

Makes 5 cups

  • 3 cups Organic Regular Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup coarsely ground Organic Brown Flaxseed
  • 1/4 cup Organic Brown Flaxseed, whole
  • 1/2 cup roughly chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/8 cup coconut oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the oats, ground and whole flaxseed, and pecans. Toss gently until well combined. In a small saucepan, heat the maple syrup, oil, and vanilla on low until just warm, about 3 minutes. Pour the mixture over dry ingredients and stir to coat evenly. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake, stirring every 10 minutes, until the granola is evenly toasted, about 30 minutes. Cool completely before storing in a sealed container.
