INGREDIENTS: Hulled Degermed White Corn Kernels.
DIRECTIONS: 4-1/2 Cups Boiling Water to 1 Cup Hominy Grits. Boil, Cover & Simmer for 20-25 Minutes.
Old Fashion’s Hominy grits consist of coarsely grounded pieces of white corn with the hull and germ removed. They go through a process called nixtamalization, in which kernels are soaked in an alkaline solution, such as limewater, to improve nutrition and digestibility. These grits are coarse and firm and have a mildly sweet taste.
